Cancellation policy (digital memberships / platform access)

This withdrawal policy applies to consumers (within the meaning of Section 13 of the German Civil Code (BGB)) for contracts for the paid use of the Aluhutdating platform (digital memberships / platform access).

1) Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen (14) days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the date of conclusion of the contract.

In order to exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement (e.g. by e-mail or via the contact form).

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notification of exercising your right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

2) Consequences of revocation

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen (14) days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.

For this repayment, we will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; under no circumstances will you be charged any fees for this repayment.

3) Compensation for lost value if the service begins before the withdrawal period expires

If you have requested that the membership / platform access should begin during the withdrawal period, you must pay us a reasonable amount corresponding to the proportion of the services already provided up to the time you inform us of the exercise of the right of withdrawal compared to the total scope of the services provided for in the contract.

(Practical note: This typically requires that you actively request that access begins immediately at the time of purchase).

4) Expiry of the right of withdrawal (only if applicable)

The right of withdrawal may expire prematurely if the legal requirements are met, in particular in the case of:

• Services: if we have provided the service in full and you have expressly consented to us commencing performance before expiry of the withdrawal period and you have confirmed that you are aware that you will lose your right of withdrawal upon complete fulfillment of the contract.
• Digital content (not on a physical data carrier): if you have expressly agreed that we may commence performance before the expiry of the withdrawal period and you have confirmed your knowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.

(In the case of term-based memberships, there is often no “complete” provision of services immediately; in this case, compensation for lost value in accordance with section 3 is more likely to be considered).
